I’ve had a couple of cute conversations with Bill over the past week or so that are so cute I must share.

Phone call:

Me: “Hi Honey!”

Bill: “Hi Hun!”

Me: “What are you doing?”

Bill: I’m doing a little yoga with one of your DVDs.”

Me: “Really?!?”

Bill: “Yeah. I’m liking it. We should take a class together at the Y when we start living together.”

This totally surprised me. I never thought that I would meet a man who would like to do yoga with me.

A few days later when he was working and I was driving, he sent me a text message that said “I’m so happy that we’re getting married!” This made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

It’s thundering outside and I’m loving all of it!!!!

Bill and I went to Creepy World on Friday. I’m glad I went. It’s making me love Halloween even more. The tickets were pretty pricey and you had to pay $2 for parking. We were there over 2 hours. A hay ride was included. It was our first hay ride together!! We got in line and the first sound I heard was a chainsaw followed by screaming. It put a smile on my face. I don’t know why. We have tickets to The Darkness. I hope we can go this week. We also want to go on a ghost tour in Alton.

I’m going to work on Ana’s room tomorrow. I have to finish painting an 8ft tree by her crib. I have about half of it finished.

We started “timeout” on Monday. I don’t make her sit for long. I’m trying to get her to learn that no means no. It took about five or six tries to get her to stay there. After the screaming, crying, and hitting she started to grasp the idea. She didn’t like me after that, but that was short-lived. We were buds again after that.

Reality Check

I’m learning so much during my field experience. I spent a few hours at another public school last term, but this time I’m spending every Friday at a different school for the entire school day. I’m getting all of the “insider details” with some of the kids backgrounds. Some of them are so heartbreaking you wouldn’t believe it. I helping with a 2nd grade class. 5 on medication. 1 on Prozac. I can’t believe an 8 yr old on Prozac. This little guy is adopted and came from an abusive situation. He had a lot of anger issues and struggles with some OCD issues. He loves the color green and the Titanic. His behavior was GREAT today.

Another guy in the other 2nd grade class has sever ADHD issues and isn’t on any medication. He live with Grandma because Mom is in jail and Dad isn’t in the picture. Grandma believes that it’s just a phase and all boys act this way.

So many more heartbreaking stories and not enough time to go into.

Today, the kids wrote what they learned from watching the President’s video. I was amazed and highly impressed with what they wrote. Obama’s message was very personal and made a positive influence with these kids. A couple of kids had to sit out because Mom and/or Dad didn’t want them to watch. So they went outside and picked up trash in the recess area.

Oct. 3-4 Missouri’s Best Farmer’s Market at the Botanical Garden.

Oct. 9-11 Secret Vacation with Bill!! I have no idea where we’re going. He has everything booked. I just need to back and ride in the car. It’s our anniversary give to each other. Plus, I have yet to go on a vacation this year. This should be fun!

Oct 12th THREE YEARS WITH BILL!!!!!

It’s been a busy work week. Yesterday was the longest yet 12 1/2 hours with Ana. I helped teach the second graders at Marthesville. A couple of kids forgot to take their meds. I need booze.

Running on Fumes

I’m really starting to burn out with school. The last time I had a break was for 1 week in December. THAT’S IT! I’ve been working 2 nanny jobs, and going to school 2 nights a week for almost a year now. These classes arent’ easy because they’re only 8 weeks. I have a year to go and it can’t get here soon enough.

I’ll be doing some extensive field experience in Marthesville aka “The boonies of WashMO “ I talked with the teacher I’m following and she seems pretty nice on the phone. I have been in a classroom for a while so I think it will help my motivation more. I’m suppose to give one lesson to this class as part of my field experience. Since I’ve subbed so much and have written and researched so many lesson plans already, I should be fine.

I went to Bill’s last softball game of the season on Sunday. Got a good dose of Vitamin D. I was chatting with a few of the other player girlfriends. We always end up talking about babies, periods, BC, boob sizes, and sex for some reason. I just met one of these women and I’m telling her how heavy my periods are since I’ve been off BC & how my cervix is shaped like a sandwich. It turned out that she’s a nursing student, has worked at Planned Parenthood for years and is currently working at this new clinic that gives out FREE birth control for THREE YEARS!!!!! Kiley and I were asking all these questions about BC and side-effects. I told her about my migraines and she suggested a lower hormone without estrogen.

She gave me the clinic’s number. All she said I had to do is go to an interview that takes about an hour and then update with them every 6 months via phone.

I’ve decided to give it a shot. I’m tired of stressing out about pregnancy. I’ve worried about it ever since I’ve been off. I’m tired of how heavy my periods are now. My cramps and back pain are back and my boobs have deflated and droopy. My migraines are still happening before and after my period. Plus, I’m tired of condoms. They don’t feel as good as the real thing. Not even close.

I’m not ready to boycott BC all together just yet because I’ve only tried one kind.
